MLK, Fair Housing Act & Real Estate

Many people aren’t aware of how much MLK JR affected the lives of real estate agents, buyers, and sellers in the United States.

It was his death that gave Congress the last push needed to pass the Fair Housing Act in 1968.

This was put in place to ban racial discrimination in housing. You can’t be refused the rental or purchase of a house, based upon your race.

As Realtor’s we are a big part of making sure this Act is followed.

Part of our responsibility is to make people aware that discrimination based upon race (and many other things) are not acceptable, and we must refuse to work with anyone who wants to do so.

I’m proud work with anyone regardless of their race, sex or religion who wants to buy a home and be a part of the American Dream…..
